St Aubyn Estates
Porthgwarra Cove Café
The Cafe is open daily between 10am to 3pm (weather permitting), 7 days per week.
The Café serves a selection of refreshments including fresh pasties, traditional cream teas, ice cream, cold drinks, coffee and tea, and delicious cakes baked on the premises.
A delicious plate of tempting treats that includes a scone, jam and cream, a slice of hevva cake or Victoria Sponge, a saffron bun and a pot of tea.
Porthgwarra Cove has been mentioned by Aidan Turner (star of Poldark) in several interviews, as it stayed open during an all-night filming session, serving pasties to the crew and stars of the show. Porthgwarra was also the location of the now famous ‘swimming scene’.
There is a beautiful garden and ample parking (pay and display ticket can be bought in the café). It’s ideally situated for walkers due to its location on the South West Coastal Path. Alternatively, skip the walk and enjoy the treats whilst watching the waves roll by the cove. The area is also a popular spot with bird watchers, and every day the wildlife and birds that have been spied in the area are noted on the café chalkboard.
The Café is an important hub for St Aubyn Estates Holidays guests. St Aubyn Estates Holidays Manager, Kerry Baillie, can be found at the café on most days. Kerry looks forward to welcoming you to the café, where there is always a complimentary coffee or tea offered to guests upon arrival.
