Explore Cornwall with Mum this Weekend

Gardens, coast paths and treats for mum this Mother's Day!

Say thank you to that wonderful woman in your life this Mother’s Day, whether she’s your mum, a mum-to-be, your mother-in-law or grandma, treat them to a wonderful day filled with love.

EXPLORE THE GARDENS

The gardens throughout Cornwall have plenty on over the weekend, so why not take mum and the family along to Trengwainton Garden, for a day exploring their sub-tropical garden, topped off with a Cornish cream tea or a spot of lunch at the Tea Room. If the kids want to get a little creative, drop into the bookshop between 11-4 and make mum a card as special as she is.

Bring along your camera and get snap happy with your mum at Glendurgan Garden.  Pose for a picture in their giant outdoor floral frame this Mother's Day and capture wonderful memories that you can keep forever. There will also be a craft station on site for all those last-minute card makers.

Travel a little further up the line into North Cornwall, and visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan, where they will be holding the Heligan Daffodil Fair. Brighten mum’s day with the sunshine yellows throughout the garden – ‘expect a feast for the eyes, as the woodland floor bursts into life’.

WALK THE COASTLINE

If the great outdoors and coastal walks are what your mother loves – then Cornwall has miles and miles of coastline to explore, and there is more than often a cosy café or a perfect pub at the end of it.

Plan a walk from Mousehole to Lamorna along the South West Coast Path and back where you will start at the home of Star Gazey Pie, pass through Kemyel Crease Nature Reserve towards the picturesque village of Lamorna – head to the Lamorna Wink for lunch, and then follow a woodland walk back to Mousehole. End your adventure with a decadent hot chocolate at the Rockpool Café in Mousehole.

Perhaps you could pack a picnic and plan a beach walk together – check the tides and weather first of course! We can highly recommend the short walk from Sennen Cove to Gwynver Beach – and for the picnic – you could include a cider or two from Polgoon Vineyard & Orchard, cheese from Curds & Croust, pasties from McFadden's of St Just, or, let the team at Picnic Cornwall take care of it all!

PAMPERING TREATS

Perhaps an evening indoors, being pampered is more mum’s thing, so that she can put her feet up and relax. The team from Bloom Remedies, based in Penzance, have a selection of gifts that would be perfect for a stay at home spa, with products that include natural skincare and holistic aromatherapy. For the expecting mum, they even have a whole range for Mama & Baby

Alternatively, if you really want to spoil her with the full works, the team at the Mount Haven can help! Whether mum enjoys a hot rocks massage, bespoke luxury facial or an Indian head massage, book into the Treatment Room, or purchase a voucher for a later date.

Whatever you do, enjoy some quality time with mum!
